I am a 34 year old transsexual woman living in Stockholm, Sweden. My life have taken a somewhat unexpected turn during the last years and I have found that there is always a need for information about transsexuality and how it is affecting my life. It is nearly always easier to understand things if you are well informed about it. I hope this site will be useful for my family, friends, collegues and other people that I meet in my life.
My daily work is in the Swedish Armed Forces where I am an active-duty officer and currently assigned to the development of information systems. I have been working as an officer for about 12 years now and it is really an interesting and dynamic job. However, my choice of career also led to many sleepless nights thinking about whether I could stay there or not when I realized that I needed to start my transition into a woman. I really love my work but I was scared that life as a transsexual woman would just be too difficult for me as an military officer. So far I am surprised that everything has been working allright and I have recieved a lot of support from my collegues.
I have also learned that since people think this is rather personal they are a little bit cautious about asking me all thos questions that they usually have. Even though I hope and think you will find many answers here I will encourage you to ask me those questions if you are unsure about anything. I think we will both benefit from that in the long run. When we get to know each other my transsexuality usually becomes just one piece of my life puzzle just as your partner, family or important events is part of yours.
In my spare time I am involved in the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights where I serve as a member of the federation board. I have also been heavily involved in developing their website and video streaming activities. Besides that I love going to the movies, reading books, working with my computers and I take every chance to travel I can. My latest favourite activity is US theme parks…hoping for the third year in a row at Walt Disney World in Florida
